Wombat Water Watch was formed in
July 2007 to give members of the community a voice on all issues to do with
water, for all people and in particular for residents of the
Shire of Hepburn, in Victoria, Australia.
The group aims to look at issues
to do with water quality and supply in the Shire; to promote full and
equal public discussion on all issues relating to local water
resources, including water treatment (fluoridation), mineral water and
ground water rights, rights to water stored in dams, stream and river
rights, irrigation rights for food production, and the sale of water by commercial enterprise.
Watersanity blog site was created
for this purpose.
In 2008 we saw the need for a
locally based community website to address local needs and issues on a
more intimate level.
In 2009 we welcome you to Wombat
Water Watch, your community website. We invite you to participate.
